I both attended as a patron and volunteered as a student at the 20th annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival, held October 28- November 4 2017. I volunteered for Robert Pattinson's film, Good Time, where he played an NYC convict trying to break his brother out of jail for a crime they both committed. It was a very interesting film and probably my favorite screening that I attended. After the film, Robert Pattinson stayed and had a Q&A about the film. Hearing him talk about the filming process and how her connects with scripts and with characters was nice and refreshing. As an actor myself, I love to hear other actors talk about their craft. Try to soak up as much information as possible.
I also attended a screening for the documentary Served like a Girl, directed by Lysa Hayland. This film was focused on the struggles our military women face when they come home from employment. This film touched me in a way none of the others did; I laughed, cried, and was glued to the screen the entire duration of the film. I'm now aware and educated on a topic I didn't know was a problem in my country.
During this crazy week, I also attended Sir Patrick Stewart's acting master class, held for the entertainment arts majors. This class was life changing! I tried to just sit back and soak up his wisdom. I couldn't help but take pages and pages worth of notes to remember every word he said.
